Guidelines of Award
Name of Award: Prof. Kandikere Ramaiah Sridhar Award for Young Researchers
Periodicity of the Award
The award shall be conferred annually based on poster presentations focused on fungi that live in aquatic environments, including freshwater, marine, and brackish habitats.
Eligibility of the Award:
Active Ph.D. scholars not exceeding 35 years of age with outstanding contributions to aquatic/terrestrial fungal biodiversity, taxonomy, phylogeny, systematics, and ecological or applied aspects. Only registered bona fide Ph.D. scholars are eligible. Permanent faculty members, post-doctoral fellows are not eligible for this award.
Administration of the Award
AFB shall have the sole right to select the recipients of the award and to formulate and/or revise the rules governing the selection process.
Value of the Award
: Felicitation with memento and a citation to First and Second winner of the Poster Presentations. The award does not carry any cash prize.
Procedure for Selection of Recipients
- The Association will invite nominations from young, active, registered Ph.D. scholars.
- A separate award competition of nominated candidates will be organized during the annual conference.
- A three-member judging committee will be nominated by the AFB for selecting the winner of the poster presentation.
- The judging committee will select First and Second winners of the Oral presentation.
- The judging committee has authority to disqualify any candidate found canvassing.
- The decision of the constituted committee by AFB will be final.
- Once awarded, the awardee can apply for any other award(s) of AFB after two years of completion.
Presentation of the Award
The winners will be honoured during the valedictory session of the annual meeting or conference.
